On 15th January 2022, sad news hits the inhabitants of Asankrangwa and its environs. The Nursing and Midwifery Training College students in Asankrangwa and the whole of Ghana were hard hit by the tragic incident.
Two nursing trainees of Asankrangwa Nursing and Midwifery Training School in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region met their untimely death when a tricycle (pragya), they joined to school collided with a grader( construction machine) which was descending a hill.
The whole community members were shocked after hearing the unfortunate incident.
One week after the incident, parents of the deceased, authorities and all students of Asankrangwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College gathered at the forecourt of the school’s Administration Block to hold a vigil for the late Priscilla Antwi Williams (PAW) and Ellen Ayitey Ansah.
It was a sad moment when Asankrangwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College (NMTC) held a vigil for the two nursing trainees who were involved in an accident. The vigil took place on 22nd January 2022.
