Residents of Asankrangwa were petrified after witnessing a horrific accident involving two tricycles, popularly known as Pragya and a road construction machine (grader).
Two female nursing students at Asankrangwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College were killed after the grader bumped into the two tricycles.
Four others have been admitted to Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital receiving treatment. Two out of the four accident victims at the hospital are in critical condition.
An eyewitness report revealed that the road construction machine was descending from the hill in town near the Chief Palace heading to the “cemetery road” which leads to Breman and Asankran -Saa. The two tricycles were also heading to town and ran into the road construction machine at the roundabout near the Health insurance office. The same report shows the driver of the grader machine was on a top speed. The first pragya had two nursing training students whilst the second pragya had two passengers- a driver and a lotto agent.
The incident occurred at Asankrangwa roundabout near the Health insurance office. The horrific accident happened around 7:20 pm on 15th January 2022.
