HIS EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Nana Acquasi Boateng was born in Kumasi, Abirem Antoa road. He grew up in Kumasi and later went to Achichire where his Grammy was to complete his Basic Education (BECE ) in 2011. He later went back to Kumasi to continue his secondary education. He was a general arts student. In 2014, he completed his secondary education and had wanted to be a lawyer or doctor but due to challenges he faced in his secondary education in terms of finances, he bought a lot of forms but later sold all out because he knew he would have problems when he’s been admitted.
He did not want to put pressure on his mother, so he decided to enter into business. Nana Acquasi did not have the capital to start, so he joined a friend who was a designer in Kumasi, blueOak printing press. He learnt how to make designs and embroidery work at BlueOak printing press. He decided to work with them. He faced a lot of challenges, but he was not discouraged by the challenges. His vision was to be a self boss and also open jobs for the youth. Through that work, he had a connection with one of their cherished customers, Madam Susana Coffie, a teacher at asankrangwa senior high. she told him that the kind of work he delivers to her was magnificent, so she wanted to work with him. She also told him he would make him manage her business. Nana Acquasi found himself in a conundrum.
The decision to quit his boss business was tough for him because they cherished the kind of work that he did for them. He did not want to come to asankrangwa, so it took him about three good weeks to decide to quit his job at Kumasi. Madam Susana promised him that his room and everything was intact, so he should come and work with her. When he finally arrived at Asankrangwa in 2016, things weren’t the same as promised, so he had to sleep at the shop. He slept at the shop for six months before getting a room to rent at hospital ridge.
In the act of managing her business, they agreed to make it a joint company. They blended two names to get PHIZZY PRINTING FOR THE REGISTRATION OF THE BUSINESS CERTIFICATE AT REGISTERED GENERAL DEPARTMENT, GHANA- ACCRA. After saving enough money and getting more ideas, he decided to open his own business. He named his business N.A-DESIGNS ( Nana Acquasi Designs ). He decided not to be in regular school due to his business. He was admitted to the university of cape for the college of distance education in 2018. He is now in his final year. Because he doesn’t want his situation to be an excuse, he decided to top up his education. He also wants a lot of ideas to advance his business.
WHAT INSPIRED NANA ACQUASI BOATENG MAXWELL
Nana Acquasi has not been in designing school or any ICT school before but it’s through hard work and determination that he has reached where he is now.
What inspired him most was that once he was unable to join his friends at the tertiary level at that time, he decided to use the opportunity to brand himself to be in the same level in terms of finances. He worked hard and anytime he needs something he calls his boss to teach him. He left there in peace and his boss is always happy that he has been able to put what he taught him to good use.
HIS ADVICE TO THE YOUTH
The youth should make good use of any opportunities they will get. They should be honest to themselves and not think of using dubious means to fill their pocket because they don’t know how the owner of such businesses suffered before opening such business. Though he has his business now, he has been managing PHIZZY PRINTING AND EMBROIDERY FOR 4 goods years without having any problem with his Director or CEO. He wants to leave a good legacy. He believes that a GOOD NAME IS BETTER THAN RICHES. This is how good work and name has brought him.
