Tamale; Police Station, VRA Office attacked.

Scores of youth in Tamale have vandalized parts of the Lamashegu Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service in the Northern region.

The irate youth also proceeded to the main office of the Volta River Authority (VRA) in Tamale, where they destroyed several properties belonging to the power distributor.

Diamondfmonline.com gathered that, the youth were on a peaceful demonstration and to submit a petition to some Chiefs within the Metropolis over recent police brutalities on some persons over illegal power connection.

But tempers went high when the demonstrators got to the Lamashegu Divisional Police command, where they thrown stones and other objectives into the Police compound and in the process destroyed some property.

The demonstrators then marched to the main office of the VRA and again destroyed several properties in the compound.

After the VRA office, the demonstrators moved towards the Northern Regional Police Headquarters, where the Police had mounted barricades before a military contingent was called in to stop the angry demonstrators.
