The outgoing DCE for Wassa East, Hon Wilson Arthur has outlined his achievements after His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo allowed him to serve the people of Wassa East District as DCE and showing gratitude to the people of Wassa East.
His full statement reads:
This afternoon, there will be a Jubilee House Press Briefing. A new DCE will be mentioned for Wassa East. I Wilson Arthur decided not to serve on the same DCE and Dean of MMDCEs in WR again. It is time to serve in other capacities. Thank God, I am blessed to have my CEO of Skyy Media Group back. I serve Ghana Football at the high level of Chairing the Committee that manages FA Cup in Ghana and I am President of Skyy fc.
In just 4years as DCE, my impact could be felt on the Cocoa Industry, creating more Spraying gangs, pushing more solo machines into communities via Farmers Day Awards, PWD Grants awards, free repair of Solo Machines District-wide, lobbying for more Pruners and Pollinators, and Extension Staff and seedlings increases from 250,000 to 1.5million, record supply of Fertilisers and enhanced Farmer’s day.
Another area my impact must be remembered is youth development. Through Aseda Foundation and Goshen Training Institute, I have facilitated self-employment livelihood skills training for thousands of wassa East youth aside job opportunities I offered. I wish I could do more. Wassa East Quarry, facilitation for NARUBIZ 1D1F and establishment of Wassa East District Football Association to manage our independent 2nd, 3rd division and Juvenile leagues. Abrodzewuram, St Martins Park have standard pitches courtesy of Wilson Arthur. Wassa East People with disabilities were impacted. More than 700 were touched. To GOD BE THE GLORY.
Thank you for believing in me and supporting me to serve as your DCE.
It is normal for DCE to point at school buildings, CHP Compounds, skill centres, Toilets, Nursing Quarters, Bridges, Telco services Expansion, Roads etc. In reality, these are projects Govt funds. Credit must go to Govt which as DCE, you head in the District.
The mark is in additional impact like restoring Teachers Awards after 10yrs of no show and expanding it into Wassa East Staff Awards.
It is my prayer that all these projects will be sustained.
Govt funding for Wassa East was 40% less than what NDC Govt brought for the District yet we achieved much much more because of integrity and prioritisation. God bless you all. I remain a citizen of Wassa East and I am hopeful that I will be given the bigger opportunity to serve my people.
I have been offered a commissioner role on National Development Commission. I’m hopeful more opportunities will come my way our Wassa East’s way.
I take this opportunity to wish my Successor all the best. I am available 24/7 to cooperate behind the scenes to sustain some good initiatives we introduced and I will be happy to help in new ones. Together we shine. It is time to make the party stronger at polling Station level and Constituency so we can win and protect political power in Wassa East and not be browned again.
